Why counselling?

There are times when we all need someone to talk to. Often, family and friends can offer valuable advice. But talking to a qualified counsellor provides an impartial, objective and non-judgemental space to empower you to work out the best solutions to problems in your life, relationships and work…

What I do…

I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy and a Certificate in the Foundations of Systemic Practice (Family Therapy).

I have experience of working with young people aged 11–18 in schools, as well as adults who have sought help with a wide variety of issues…

What to expect…

Going to see a counsellor for the first time can be a very daunting experience. Be assured that all counselling sessions with me are completely confidential. We will work collaboratively and openly, based upon what you want to achieve from counselling. I will not judge you or tell you what to do…

Why counselling?

There are times when we all need someone to talk to. Often, family and friends can offer valuable advice. But talking to a qualified counsellor provides an impartial, objective and non-judgemental space to empower you to work out the best solutions to problems in your life, relationships and work. Counselling can help you with issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, bereavement/loss, and stress. I practice from offices in Bank/Monument and Islington.

What I do…

I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy and a Certificate in the Foundations of Systemic Practice (Family Therapy).

I have experience of working with young people aged 11–18 in schools, as well as adults who have sought help with a wide variety of issues. I work both short and long term with clients.

My theoretical model is integrative, which means that I incorporate a number of different theories when working with clients, including person-centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic ideas, as well as others.

I am a gay affirmative counsellor, and my interests include women and therapy, depression and anxiety, domestic violence, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), working with black and minority ethnic (BME) clients, relationships, couples and family therapy and sexual identity.

Going to see a counsellor for the first time can be a very daunting experience. Be assured that all counselling sessions with me are completely confidential. We will work collaboratively and openly, based upon what you want to achieve from counselling. I will not judge you or tell you what to do and we will decide together how many sessions we will work together.

Fees

We will always talk about money openly and honestly and we will discuss together what price you pay for your sessions. Please use the following as a guide:

Initial consultation: £20
Individual sessions: £40 - £60 per session (depending on your ability to pay)
Couples/Families: £70 per session.

I believe therapy should be accessible to all those who want it. I am therefore able to offer a limited number of sessions at a lower rate for students, trainees and those on low income, to ensure that no-one is priced out of therapy.
